Keating-Mccain connections

John McCain, a fallen hero now being touted as the republican presidential candidate, who wanted to become president in 2000, and still has massive ambitions to be in the spotlight all the time, so desperately that he linked his political, personal and career ambition to Charlie Keating, the wealthy con man. Charles Keating was convicted of racketeering and fraud in both state and federal court after his Lincoln Savings & Loan collapsed, costing the taxpayers $3.4 billion. His convictions were overturned on technicalities; for example, the federal conviction was overturned because jurors had heard about his state conviction, and his state charges because Judge Lance Ito (yes, that judge) screwed up jury instructions. Neither court cleared him, nor he faces new trials in both courts.)
Though he was not convicted of anything, McCain intervened on behalf of Charles Keating after Keating gave McCain at least $112,00 in contributions. In the mid-1980s, McCain made at least 9 trips on Keating's airplanes, and 3 of those were to Keating's luxurious retreat in the Bahamas. were like siblings in their associations! Charlie Keating threw fund raisers in McCain’s honour and arranged huge economic investments towards McCain’s beautiful pill-popping wife, by supplying the network required to support the inception of a million dollars sweet shopping-centre investment involving McCain’s father-in-law, Jim Hensley. Charlie Keating saw McCain as a prime investment that would pay off in the future.
Charlie Keating flew McCain and his family around the country in his private jets. Time after time, Charlie Keating put McCain up for serene, private vacations at his vast, palatial spa in the Bahamas. McCain's wife and father-in-law also were the largest investors (at $350,000) in a Keating shopping centre; the Phoenix New Times called it a "sweetheart deal." With history of the McCain’s dealing with lobbyists, it is now vital that the American people get to know the details of their associations with discredited individuals.

It it truly amazing that John McCain has manipulated the press and his public image to remain in politics after helping Charles Keating (and more importantly key campaign donor) steal almost $4 billion from investors. McCain has tirelessly worked to manipulate not only his POW status but also use the gullible, never-questioning-anything-that-looks-crooked (not referring to McCann’s disability) and that has allowed him to be guaranteeing his political survival and has laid the ground work for a new image of the “The Straight Talk Express.” But obviously, the senator is so disingenuous.
Besides being a “maverick” (more like a law-breaking rebel!) McCain has his own serious family issues that would need to be looked at closely. McCain has a reputation as a politician who has difficulty keeping his pants zipped, according to Republican sources. In the Baptist church debate on national TV, he acknowledged that his adultery broke up his first marriage. His second wife Cindy, (Poor rich girl!) is the the daughter of a wealthy Budweiser beer distributor, has had problems wth prescription narcotics and even stole hard drugs from a medical charity that she ran. McCain acknowledges that she didn't want him to run for office, and only agreed once he promised that she doesn't have to go to New Hampshire or Iowa. Now there is a thought.....!
Obama has had his life laid bare to the point of the nation knowing what colour his boxers were when he was 6 years old at a “Madrassa” and it is amazing how both the left and the right wing is this time keeping quiet about the Keating scandal that McCain was involved in. Cheap Hannity in his quest to discredit Obama has even included and sent out snoopers to get information on Obama’s association with Rev Jeremiah and Ayers (the terrorist con). If associations are enough to disqualify Presidential candidates from running for office, then McCain must be struck off the least straight away!
Why aren’t the Obama campaigns raising the Keating scandal during the campaign? Or this really the new politics that Obama is advocating for, clean politics about issues and not personalities? I applaud Obama for the non-tatty-personal attacks on the Palin record neither on morals nor on McCain’s “faux-pas maverick” image as the American people know what is happening! The republicans work on “discredit and disempowering the opponent” to strengthen their base. As people say, really, if you live in a glass house, please don’t throw stones!
